Daniel Andai, Concertmaster for the Miami Symphony, will be collaborating with Harpsichordist, David Bowen, performing the famous f minor Violin Sonata, by J.S. Bach. Hailed by The New York Times as an "Exemplary Leader" for his Carnegie Hall performance with members of the New York Philharmonic, violinist Daniel Andai has shared his versatile artistry, as a soloist, recitalist, chamber musician and recording artist, in major concert venues across five continents, the Middle East, the Caribbean and over 25 United States. Named one of "20 under 40" from both Poder Magazine and The Miami Herald for exerting influence over the arts, he is also a prize winner in national and international competitions. Dr. Krista Jobson, UTPA Flute professor, performing Suite Antique, by John Rutter and will be accompanied by Amy Barrett, Harpsichord, Dr. George Amorim, Double Bass, and David Bowen, Organ. Prior to her faculty position at the University of Texas-Pan American, Dr. Jobson served on the faculties of The University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music. Dr. Krista Jobson was the Principal Flutist of the Topeka Symphony and is Principal Flutist of The Trade Winds Recording Ensemble for Carl Fischer, Inc. She has given performances with the Piccolo Spoleto Festival Orchestra, Spartanburg Philharmonic, Spartanburg Repertory Theater Orchestra, Spartanburg Children’s Theater Orchestra, Charleston Symphony Orchestra, and Brevard Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Jobson holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Flute Performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where she also earned a Master’s degree in 2007.
Jordan Williams, accomplished organist and an anchor for the Channel 5 KRGV News Team, is performing the Praeludium in D and a Chorale Prelude, by Buxtehude. Recently, Mr Williams performed in a master class in San Antonio with renowned organ professor and performer, Craig Phillips.
Dr. George Amorim, UTPA Double Bass Professor, performing the g minor Sonata by Marcello, accompanied by Harpsichordist, David Bowen. He currently performs with the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra in addition to regular guest appearances with various ensembles in the United States, Europe and Brazil. As a soloist, George was a prize winner of the Paraiba Music Award in 1996 and finalist at the Young Talents Award in 1999; as a member of the Zenamon Quintet, an ensemble dedicated to the promotion of the music of Latin American composers, he was a first prize winner in both the Honorina Barra International Chamber Music Competition and the Curitiba Chamber Music Award in 1999.
Dr. Christopher Zaleski, MD with a Fellowship in Pediatric Radiology, University of Miami. While Dr. Zaleski devotes his life to his Pediatric Radiology practice, any free time he has he enjoys practicing and performing on his woodwind instruments. For this performance, he will be playing Alto Recorder performing the Trio in d mimor, by Tellemann with Dr. Jobson, Dr. Amorim and Mr. Bowen. Dr. Zaleski is a member of the Chamber Music Society of Good Shepherd, Jacksonville, FL and performs with the ensemble when time permits.
There will be an opportunity to meet and talk with the performers at a reception following the concert.
